Jan
started out in illustration, diverted into theatrical prop and model making,
but then found what she really likes to do most. Trompe L'oeil - illusions in paint.
Classical trompe l'oeil motifs are a favourite incorporating architectural detailing, views from windows and
decorative niches. Figurative work is welcomed and Jan adapts well to painting for children's
playrooms, bedrooms and furniture.
Jan is happy to work within people's homes or onto backboards that can be hung.
She works in acrylics and is neat and efficient.
Her style could be described as well drawn and detailed. She particularly enjoys the humour
that trompe l'oeil introduces into a room and the personal references that can detail her work.
Jan is based in Somerset but is happy to take commissions outside of Somerset. Please call to explore ideas.
